Do you have a group of friends looking for a new adventure? DI is the perfect challenge to take on! All you need are 2 to 7 members between grades K-12 and University to compete.
Public schools, private schools, homeschools, youth groups, and student organizations are welcome! You do not have to be affiliated with a school to create or join a team.
A Team Number is a unique membership number permitting a team to present and compete at local DI events and tournaments. This number also makes them eligible for DI Global Finals.
A Team Number can be used for a team of 2-7 participants for the competitive Team Challenges. Teams solving the Early Learning (non-competitive Challenge) may have 2 or more participants.
A background check is required for all Team Managers participating in DI. For more information on DI's Background Check requirement, view this page.
You will be prompted to complete the background check via email after purchasing the background check and your Team Number. Cost is $25.
Attached is a checklist to help you get started and to help you throughout the season.
Your team is now ready to begin working on a Team Challenge and lots of Instant Challenges.
Log into your DI account, go to Documents, View Documents. Open Challenge Materials, Team Challenges to view the information for each of the seven Team Challenges. Your team will choose one Team Challenge to solve throughout the season. Teams with members who are K-2nd grade will solve the Rising Star/Early Learners Challenge.
Roadmap and Rules of the Road - These documents will help you throughout the entire season. These are also found under Documents, View Documents, Challenge Materials.
Roadmap is a guide to help you manage your team members as they design and execute a Destination Imagination (DI) Challenge solution together. Roadmap is designed to help you teach the creative process and the additional skills that team members need to complete their solution to a DI Challenge. Chapter 5 will supply sample meeting Agendas and a Benchmark list as your team works through the DI season.
Rules of the Road - Rules of the Road is a resource that contains all of the rules and procedures required to participate in a tournament. Regardless of the Team Challenge you have selected, it is very important for your team to review Rules of the Road to learn the details of the Challenge Experience, to prepare for tournaments, and to make sure your Team Challenge and Instant Challenge solutions fit within the rules.
