Instant Challenges are quick creative and critical-thinking exercises that build teamwork and reinforce problem-solving skills like rapid ideation and implementation.
All teams will solve three Instant Challenges: Task, Performance, Combination (task and performance)
Teams will be given approximately 5 minutes to solve each Instant Challenge (time will be dependent on the challenge).
7:45am Team Registration
8:00am Instant Challenges and Workshops begin
1:00pm Awards Ceremony - Awards given to the first place team in each level.
When teams are not competing in the Instant Challenge room, they will be participating in various STEAM workshops.
Teams will compete in the following levels*:
Rising Stars: Kindergarten - 2nd Grade
Elementary Level: 3rd grade - 5th grade
Middle Level: 6th grade - 8th grade
Secondary Level: 9th grade - 12th grade
University Level: Any Girl Scouts currently attending college/university
*If your troop consists of troop members in multiple grades, the team will compete in the grade of the oldest member.
IMPORTANT: DI allows 7 participants per team. If your troop has more than 7 members, the troop will have to be divided so only 7 participants solve an Instant Challenge at a time. This may cause a troop to be divided into 2 or more teams.
One fun way to prepare for the tournament is by solving Instant Challenges during your meetings. Click here for a list of practice Instant Challenges to start your troop off.
Before you start, please review our Instant Challenge rules with your troop by reading our DIVA Instant Challenge Guide to the left.
