Frequently
Asked Questions
Q:
What are Challenges?
A: The Challenges are 5 problem-solving challenges
written to hone the skills of students. Teams will
spend from a few weeks to many months finding ways
to solve the challenge given. The complete Challenges
with all the requirements to compete are now available
at IDODI.
Q:Where can I get
the Challenges?
A: Destination ImagiNation®
Challenges will be available at IDODI.
It is very IMPORTANT that all teams get their registration
and team information to their regional program as
soon as possible. Every team MUST be registered and
have a membership number to compete in any tournament
within their region. Previews can be found on the
IDODI
Challenge Preview page.
Q:
What is a Passport?
A: It is your Destination ImagiNation®
membership. The passport gives you access to the complete
Challenges and other program materials. The Passport
is needed for your school's teams to compete in tournaments.
Please make sure you register by your region's tournament
deadline so your team can showcase their solutions
on Tournament Day!
Q: I am a brand new
Team Manager. Can you tell me where to start?
A: The Team
Manager Guide is a great way to start. In it you
will find tips on how to manage a team of kids without
coaching them to a solution. The Rules
of the Road will give you all the details of the
program. The RotR will be your reference book and
will answer most questions that will arise during
a tournament year. Attend Team Manager trainings in
your region and vist the Resources page on this web
and other regional web sites. Contact your Regional
Director who can put you on any program update lists
he/she maintains for the program year.
Q: Is Destination ImagiNation®
only for gifted students?
A: No! Destination ImagiNation® is
designed for every student who is interested in discovering
ways to problem solve and think out of the box!
